I'm not an influencer and don't do paid marketing, but here are some organizations and products that make me feel good and share my goal of giving back to our community. These are businesses I support, want to amplify, and believe the people in my orbit would want to know about. Go explore and enjoy.
Ballet Help Desk
The Ballet Help Desk comes from two generous and smart moms who spent years trying to figure out how to support their dancing kids. From the competition circuit to ballet training to their professional careers, they learned the ins and outs of navigating their children's paths through the dance world. Now they bring a podcast, summer intensive reviews, blog, and more to parents following the same road,
The Ballet Scout
Run by professional ballet dancers eager to make the dance world easier to navigate, The Ballet Scout is a one-stop shop for ballet auditions, training, and jobs. Here you can compare your favorite ballet programs, plan your ballet audition weekend, educate yourself with valuable tips for audition success, and recruit dancers for your organization.
Kathryn Morgan & Friends
Founded in 2020 by respected ballerina, educator, judge, and influencer Kathryn Morgan, Kathryn Morgan & Friends is a ballet community for dancers of all ages and aspirations. It was born out of a desire to strip ballet of its more harmful practices, and build a space where dancers are valued for who they are as people above their level of proficiency — where the joy of focusing on the process more than the product is intentionally kept front and center.
Once Upon a Dance
Once Upon a Dance is a mother-daughter duo with a passion for dance and storytelling. They strive to share joyful movement, honor the beauty and discipline of ballet, and foster freedom of expression. Their six series and 34 titles inspire children to explore movement, breath, joy, connection, and imagination. They donate all royalties to charities supporting the arts, animals, environment, or people.
